The Gallery owner, Carolina Sanchez de Bustamante, also an artist in Textile and Ceramic Art of international stature, has exhibited her work throughout North and South America, Japan and Europe in juried and curated exhibitions.

She has completed major commissions for corporate and private individuals and since 1993 runs ASHPA NAIRA Studio on the Westside of Okanagan Lake. Carolina has taught extensively and is a consultant to interior designers.

The name ASHPA NAIRA is taken from the indigenous quechua language of the Incas and means "fired earth", which is exactly the process that transforms raw clay into ceramics.

The Gallery started in 2004, in a different location as Fugitive Gallery, but Carolina's love of art and a passion for supporting artists has lead her to reopen the Gallery in her home as ASHPA NAIRA Gallery & Studio.

ASHPA NAIRA Gallery embraces the Arts and Design, in an inviting and relaxed atmosphere, where you can feel the beauty and creativity, and you can experience works of art in a home and garden setting.
